About Justyna Garzennec
I am a highly experienced, accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Interpersonal Psychotherapist, with 18 years' experience working in a busy NHS psychological therapy service and 7 years in private practice. I offer therapy online and in calm, welcoming consulting rooms in Central London.
My work is grounded in warmth, empathy and collaboration. I aim to offer a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore your challenges, understand the patterns that may be holding you back, and begin developing practical strategies that support lasting change.
I carry out comprehensive clinical assessments and provide psychological interventions for people experiencing depression and a range of anxiety-related difficulties, including panic disorder, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, generalised anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
I also specialise in helping people who struggle with high self-criticism, perfectionism, low self-esteem and stress — including work-related stress or burnout — as well as people whose depression or mood-related difficulties arise in the context of relationship challenges.
Alongside my clinical work, I also provide supervision to qualified CBT therapists and therapists in training.
Our Work Together
How We Will Work Together
Below is how our work together typically unfolds — always at a pace that feels right for you.
A safe, respectful space
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if it's the first time you're sharing your inner world with someone else. My priority is to help you feel safe, understood and valued, so that trust can develop at a pace that feels right for you. I bring a naturally warm, empathetic and compassionate style, with deep respect for each person's individuality and humanity.
Shared understanding
In our first session we will explore your difficulties, clarify your goals, and agree on how we will work together. If you've had previous therapy, we can reflect on that too, so this experience feels grounded and supportive from the start.
Evidence-based, flexible
I draw flexibly on a range of therapeutic approaches — including CBT, IPT and compassion-focused work — gently challenging unhelpful thoughts or self-limiting beliefs, building skills such as assertiveness, and cultivating a kinder relationship with yourself.
Working with underlying patterns
Where helpful, we may explore past experiences to understand how they have shaped the beliefs you hold about yourself and others, and begin shifting the ones that no longer serve you, so you can experience yourself and your life in a more balanced and healthy way.
Relationships and life transitions
Sometimes emotional distress is linked to significant interpersonal events — bereavement, relationship changes, conflict, or feelings of loneliness and isolation — or to major life changes such as job loss or changes in physical health. Together we will work through these experiences, develop healthier ways of relating to others, and build more satisfying and supportive connections.
Regular review
Throughout therapy we will regularly review your progress to ensure that our work remains aligned with your needs and goals, and evolves as you do.
When life feels difficult, therapy can help you find a way forward.
Many people come to therapy because the ways they have been coping no longer feel enough. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.
Therapy offers time and space to understand what is happening, explore what may be contributing to your difficulties, and build new ways of responding to life's challenges.
A central part of my work is helping people recognise and draw on their own inner strengths and personal resources. I believe this is an important part of building resilience, confidence and a greater sense of emotional wellbeing.
