When life feels difficult, therapy offers time and space to understand what is happening, explore what may be contributing to your difficulties, and build new ways of responding to life's challenges.
How we'll work together
How We Will Work Together
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if it's the first time you're sharing your inner world with someone else. Below is how our work together typically unfolds.
A safe, respectful space
My priority is to help you feel safe, understood and valued, so that trust can develop at a pace that feels right for you. I bring a naturally warm, empathetic and compassionate style, with deep respect for each person's individuality and humanity.
Shared understanding
In our first session we explore your difficulties, clarify your goals, and agree how we will work together. If you've had previous therapy, we can reflect on that too, so this experience feels grounded and supportive from the start.
Evidence-based, flexible
I draw flexibly on a range of therapeutic approaches — including CBT, IPT and compassion-focused work — gently challenging unhelpful thoughts, building skills such as assertiveness, and cultivating a kinder relationship with yourself.
Regular review
Throughout therapy we regularly review your progress to ensure our work stays aligned with your needs and goals, and evolves as you do.
